Sliding Gate Installation & Repair
Rolling and cantilever gates planned around side clearance, track condition and dependable travel.
Rolling and cantilever gates planned around side clearance, track condition and dependable travel.
A sliding gate keeps its leaf parallel to the fence instead of swinging through your parking area. It needs enough run-back alongside the opening, a stable guide system and a gate that remains supported through its entire travel.
Repair starts with the gate's movement, not its motor. A damaged wheel, uneven track or misaligned guide can make an operator stop or reverse even when the electronics work correctly.
Track and travel faults to investigate
- The leaf rocks, tilts or leaves the guide
- Grinding follows a damaged section of track
- The chain goes slack or pulls unevenly
- The gate reverses where gravel or pavement interrupts travel

Check the rolling system before the drive
With power isolated and the gate safely supported, we inspect manual movement, wheels, guide rollers, stops and track anchorage. Heavy leaves and off-track gates need professional handling.
For an installation we measure side run-back, drainage and footing locations. We then match the drive arrangement and safety devices to the completed gate, testing the opening and closing zones before handover.
Sliding layouts
- Ground-track rolling
- A wheel-supported leaf suits a stable driveway track with manageable debris and drainage.
- Cantilever
- A supported leaf avoids a track across the road but needs additional run-back and engineered supports.
What affects the scope and the price
- Opening width and side run-back
- Track removal or driveway repairs
- Gate weight and support foundations
- Power, detection and operator compatibility
What's included
- Run-back and support assessment
- Track, wheel and guide repairs
- Rolling or cantilever layout options
- Operator and safety-device coordination
Keep the track visible and safety zones clear
Clear loose gravel and leaves without entering a moving gate's path. Do not push an unstable leaf back onto its track or bypass safety devices to force travel.
