Gate Repair
Same-day repairs for gates that stick, sag, grind or stop responding.
Fast diagnostic and repair service for gates that drag, sag, reverse unexpectedly or stop responding to remotes.
Our trucks carry the hinges, rollers, chains, control boards and safety devices behind the majority of gate failures, so most calls are resolved on the first visit.
We repair the cause, not the symptom: a gate that binds is usually a footing, alignment or roller problem long before it is a motor problem.
Symptoms we get called out for
- The gate drags on the driveway or has dropped at the latch side
- Grinding, squealing or a knocking sound partway through travel
- The gate opens but reverses before it closes
- Remotes or the keypad work intermittently, or only up close
- The gate stops mid-travel and has to be pushed by hand
- A vehicle or wind gust has bent the frame or knocked the leaf off track

How we diagnose it
We run the gate through a full cycle by hand with the operator disconnected first. A gate that is hard to move by hand has a mechanical problem, and no motor or board will fix it.
Then we check hinge wear, post plumb, roller and track condition, and whether the footing has shifted — sagging is far more often a footing or hinge issue than a motor issue.
Only after the gate moves freely do we look at the operator: limits, travel settings, the control board, safety loops and photo-eyes.
We explain what failed and why before any part is replaced, so you are not paying for a motor when the real cause was a worn roller.
Common repairs
- Hinge and post work
- Re-hanging a dropped leaf, replacing worn or seized hinges, correcting a leaning post.
- Roller and track
- Off-track correction, roller replacement, clearing and realigning bent track.
- Frame and weld repair
- Straightening or re-welding after impact, rust repair at the bottom rail.
- Operator electronics
- Control boards, limit switches, receivers and wiring faults.
- Safety devices
- Photo-eyes, safety loops and reversing sensors that have failed or drifted out of alignment.
What affects the scope and the price
- Whether the fault is mechanical, electrical or both
- Gate weight and how far the frame has moved out of square
- Availability of parts for older or discontinued operators
- Damage from impact, corrosion or long-term deferred wear
What's included
- Off-track and bent-frame correction
- Hinge, roller and chain replacement
- Control board and limit switch diagnostics
- Safety loop and photo-eye testing
Preventing the repeat visit
A gate that failed once from binding will fail again if the underlying alignment is left alone — we would rather correct the cause than return for the same symptom.
Safety devices are part of the repair, not an extra. A gate that reverses correctly protects vehicles, pets and children.
