Custom Metalworks
Ornamental iron, steel and custom-welded fencing and railings.
Ornamental iron, steel and custom-welded fencing, railings and security panels fabricated in our own shop.
Fence lines rarely run flat in Southern California. We rack panels to the grade and set posts to depth for the soil on site, so the line stays straight years later.
Our welders also handle repairs, extensions and one-off pieces — pool-code fencing, dumpster enclosures, window guards and handrails.
What we fabricate
- Ornamental iron fence panels matched to an existing gate or railing
- Scrollwork, finials and repeating detail work to a pattern
- Guard and stair railings on a residential or commercial frontage
- Repairs and extensions to older ironwork nobody stocks parts for
- Security screens, window guards and infill panels

From measurement to install
We measure on site and template anything that has to meet an existing line, because older ironwork is rarely square and a shop-built panel has to absorb that.
Detail is agreed before fabrication — picket spacing, top profile, scroll pattern and how the panel meets the posts and the ground.
Fabrication happens in our own shop. That is what lets us match an existing pattern rather than substituting the nearest stock part.
Steel is prepped and primed before the finish coat; on outdoor work the preparation matters more than the paint.
Materials and finishes
- Wrought iron and mild steel
- The traditional look, and the strongest option for security work.
- Aluminum
- Lighter and naturally corrosion-resistant — worth considering near the coast.
- Powder coat
- Hard, even finish in a wide colour range, applied over primed steel.
- Wet paint and touch-up systems
- Used where the work has to match an existing finish on site.
What affects the scope and the price
- Total linear footage and how much of it is repeating versus one-off
- Complexity of the detail work and whether a pattern must be matched
- Site access for delivering and setting fabricated panels
- Ground conditions and hardscape at the post locations
- Coastal exposure, which affects material and finish choice
What's included
- Ornamental iron and tubular steel fencing
- Pool-code compliant self-latching gates
- Handrails, guardrails and window guards
- Mobile welding and on-site repair
Keeping ironwork sound
Touch up chips as they appear. Bare steel outdoors starts corroding at the scratch and works under the surrounding finish.
Rust almost always starts at the bottom rail where sprinklers hit it — redirecting one irrigation head buys years.
